Stairs in the Sicilian city of Caltagirone are composed of ceramics and pottery personification of the long tradition of the town after which the city got its name and is considered one of the most beautiful stairs in the world. Located in the Sicilian city of Caltagirone, the steps of Santa Maria del Monte has 142 steps, which are decorated with various ceramic patterns. During the spring and summer even more breathtaking because locals decorate with potted flowers and lanterns.

Those stairs are magnificent looking. I would probably have a problem going up 140 and some steps but I still would like to see them in person…. Thanks for all the beautiful areas you present in your posts. They are all gorgeous….

This sure could be a sight seeing attraction for tourists. I have been to Italy but did not cover this area.
