The Brickmaker’s Dog

Lord only knows the story behind the making of this brick. I came across it out of a customer’s collection of reclaimed bricks for a Cape Charles circa 1890’s restoration. These bricks were mostly covered with mortar and required loads of time chiseling and brushing the debris from them. A sharp 3″ brick chisel can make easier work of this when struck just right, popping loose a whole side of old mortar at once, to expose such amazing things.
