I am sure we have heard of the song lyric “Get me to the church on time.” Or you may have heard of the old saying “A funny thing happened on the way here.”
Joseph and Feliece DeMichele were on their way from home with their two children Jayden, 10, and Gianna, 5, to the Village Of Lake Grove to get married when on a Saturday morning they were driving their auto on a highway in Suffolk County in New York when they were involved in a minor accident when a driver in front of them made a U turn and hit their auto which disabled it to get to the town hall on time.
Thanks to the Suffolk County Police Officers Sergeant Thomas Kennedy and Officer Cody Matthews who were on the scene to investigate the auto accident, Officer Matthews offered the couple and their two children a ride in his auto to take them to the town hall for their wedding ceremony.
The outpouring of appreciation from the couple to Officer Matthews from the couple was so great that Officer Matthews was invited to sign the book to seal the deal that the couple who had been engaged for six years finally have tied the knot.
The DeMichele’s were so happy that despite a minor traffic accident that could have thrown a monkey wrench into the wedding plans, thanks to Officers Kennedy and Matthews, their wedding ceremony at the town hall was an early Christmas present.
That is a good question since according to author Zachary K Hubbard the higher ups in the police are shady characters.
One wonders if this is the rule, rather than the exception
Under the circumstances, the police officer took the couple and the kids to City Hall since the accident was considered a minor accident.
I meant, are the police as a whole helpful or oppressive?
Most police officers that I know of are good hearted officers.
but are they representative of the force?
How wonderful they were able to get to the “church’ on time.
That is true since it seldom happens to couples getting ready to go to their destinations on time with help of the police.
