St Marys (St. Mary’s Basilica) in Gdansk, Poland is the largest church in the world that was built from bricks. The colossal basilica debt is over 100 meters, and there can hold 25,000 people. The foundations of this church were set in mid-14th century, the construction was completed in the next 100 years, until the Second World War the church was in excellent condition, but was destroyed in 1945 after joining the Red Army in the city. The wooden roof is on this occasion completely burned and the whole ceiling collapsed – after all, most works of art inside the church survived.
