Shah-i-Zinda Uzbekistan …

Shah-i-Zinda, a necropolis, which is located in Samarkand (Uzbekistan), is one of the oldest and longest-running examples of the continuing construction of a building, whose construction lasted almost a millennium. This fascinating building was originally erected as a religious monument more than 1,000 years, and the various temples, tombs and other buildings were added continuously over the next century. The result is a fascinating mixture of different architectural styles that have changed during the thousand years of construction.
