What are these thoughts on my mind?
Like grasping fingers
Holding on tight
Music with a beat
Somewhere from long ago
In my memory
Feet longing to stray
And do a dance step or two
What are these thoughts on my mind?
Wanting to put on my blue suede shoes
Put on a rock and roll tune
While my feet tap
And a smile bright and sappy
What are these thoughts on my mind?
Old-fashioned rock and roll music
That makes my mind dance
I long for the melodies
That comes to me
On the breeze
Blowing through the trees
Give me rock and roll music
Inspire me
All those years of growing up
To that rock and roll beat
Nothing inspires
Like the rock and roll masters
Tunes that never grow old
And never go out of style
Give me that rock and roll beat
Fill my mind with songs that are neat
Just gotta be rock and roll music
To inspire me
What a classic post you have shared. Elvis was more than incredible.
Elvis was worth the inspiration for many of my poems, Carol
He was the best rock and roll singer … I still love listening to him today, dear Sandra
I think no one ever gets tired of Elvis
The king of rock and roll. He changed music forever!
The King and I never had the pleasure to meet but I did encounter his spirit once a long time ago, Doc
i have heard people talk about encountering him at Graceland.
That is why I would love to get to Graceland one day and go down into that Jungle Room, The time I encountered his spirit was at my own apartment with powerful thoughts sent to above while playing his music, Doc I wrote about this odd experience once,
i honestly don’t remember if I read it, or if you shared it in one o the places I’ve read your stuff.
Graceland is a melancholy tour.
Love this. Great job sharing something different and interesting.
Thank you and glad you enjoyed this
