Shelton (Connecticut) Police Officer Michael Kihar was on his way to work on Sunday morning when he was smoke coming out of the home that was on fire.
Kihar used his smarts to first call 911 to report the fire in the home that is located on Meadow Street before he got out of his auto to alert the residents of the home that their house was on fire.
Kihar risked his life to evacuate the residents of the home quickly before he went inside the home to retrieve the family dog before it would have been too late for anyone to get out of that home alive.
The fire was put out by several fire department in the Shelton region within 90 minutes with no one being seriously injured or any fatalities.
I am really impressed with the actions of Officer Kihar who was at the right place at the right time that Sunday morning last month to live up to his oath to serve and protect the citizens of his community without any expectation of being rewarded by the people that he saved..
The Shelton Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire that damaged the home of the residents of that home whose names were not released to the public.
It is nice to see that despite the negative publicity the police get from the news media over a few rotten apples in the basket maintain their level of excellence doing their duty. of saving lives when they are on or off the clock.
Those who run towards the fire are the heroes!
That is one reason I admire real life heroes better than the fictional ones on the entertainment world.
That is an interesting reality. A fictional hero responds the way the author wishes they had, could or would respond.
In the real world, there is no time to think about it.
That is true since most real life heroes make the decision to take care of business when duty calls.
Brave people have always spirit of humanity
That is very true since people who take an oath to assist others do not take those words lightly.
