When I lived in Riga, Latvia the best place to buy fresh food was not at a supermarket but at the Riga Central Market. This was like a giant food fair with vendors selling food outside and inside in giant hangars. I was going through my old photos and remembered the friendly pigeons and seagulls at the market. They would gather on these tin roofs beneath which vendors sold goods.
This is a photo of one of them who came right to the edge of the roof so I could get a really good shot of him. On a Saturday walking through the market was always like walking through a museum with food on display. The best day for seagulls was when we would buy some fresh fish there is a special kind of fish we used for marinating and the seagulls would gather and I would throw some of the fish to them.
