People should come with a label and perhaps even an instruction manual. It really could make much of our encounters a little more simple, productive and easier to tolerate. Let’s take my house this morning.
My husband apparently didn’t sleep well. He didn’t say it and there was no indication as he got up and made a great breakfast for us. When I said “Thanks for getting up and making us breakfast, it was great.”
“Whatever!”
“Is everything okay?”
“Do I look okay?”
“You look fine. You sound a little angry and defensive.”
“You are wrong. I am very tired. He stomped off to the bedroom and slammed the door. If he had a label I could have read or an emoji on his forehead that said sleepy, tired or grumpy I may have been better prepared.
What would your label have been 30 minutes after you woke up?
Do you think it would be fun to write your own instruction manual?
A label would not work for me, we tend to meet any new situation in life by reorganizing, and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralization, I feel, we should just be tolerant because, some days are diamonds, some days are stones…
So could it be “radom” lol. No worries I won’t label you!
random the word is random I was trying to type.
Bill Ingvall, the comic always said “here’s your sign!”
I wonder what the instruction manual would look like for me.
line one, ask wife
line two in cases of questions refer to line one.
I love “Here’s Your Sign”. Perhaps I should start every day with a sign!
I love your instruction book, wouldn’t work here because I hate deciding what they want to do!
my wife points out for me, it works everywhere 🙂
I think my answer is already given by Lajenna ,
Ah great minds think alike.
If people had a label, we would most of the time avoid them so as to not create a drama.
I struggle to wake up in the afternoon.
I am happy that I am alive☺️
I am happy you are alive as well.
It depends … if I wake up in the morning the label would be “Shut the F* up and get away from me!” <— Yes, this bad.
If I wake up in the noon (or late morning) then I'd probably be "I'm tired, but I'm ok with mild interactions."
I guess there won't be a manual because our mood is never the same everyday or time.
See all that would be very helpful information.
I would have thought that a grumpy expression on the face was a label anyway!
Probably, then again it takes a lot to make me have a great big smile.
I am rarely grumpy in the morning, but I do have trouble sleeping. Great topic for discussion! Yes we should wear labels lol.
Today mine would be “Not Grumpy, still sleeping!”
I’m not grumpy in the morning; so thirty minutes after I got up I’d be fine. I think I do need a label for washing instructions.
Good to know and thanks for taking the time to comment.
