Pastor saves the life of a dog that was in an icy pond in Missouri

Jeff Mann who is a pastor of the CrossBridge Baptist Church performed an act of heroism this week when he returned home from his duties of church work when his wife Selina Mann informed him that a dog that was in their backyard fell into an icy pond and he needed help to get out of the pond before the dog would either freeze to death or drown.

Mann then went inside his home to get some rubber boots and a rope to make an attempt to rescue the dog who wandered into the icy pond before the dog fell into the water but he could not get out of the trap of being in the icy water.

Mann threw the rope into the icy pond water six times before the dog used his instincts to use his teeth to grab the rope and get dragged out of the icy pond in the nick of time.

Pastor Mann then took the dog inside his home to spend time with Mann and his wife before the dog who renamed Lazarus went to his masters home at night.

Mann admitted that if he was not able to get the dog dragged out of the icy pond by use of the rope, Mann would have had to use his second plan which was to get a life vest and then stomp on the ice to break the ice and then risk his life to rescue the dog.

My hat is off to Jeff Mann who went beyond the call of duty to rescue a dog that belonged to this neighbor as well as being a man of the cloth who preaches Good News to his flock in Marshfield Missouri.
