Not The Usual Story – 3

From the moment Bryan came to work for the company, with his cheerfulness and brilliance I never wanted to leave work.

Our jobs were exciting and interesting.  We inspired each other.  He would say one word, it would lead to a concept.

We bounced ideas and twists of language and plot. We’d work on a project until completion, because when you have a job which demands creativity, you don’t watch a clock, you run with it as far as you can go.

Sometimes we’d be so caught in a project, we couldn’t let it go. Often we’d take work home, (my house) and on more than one occasion, Bryan slept in the room my eldest son had occupied.

It was common sense that Bryan would move in.

All it took was one argument with his landlady, and I got all Bryan all the time.
