Mauritianum

Mauritianum the natural history museum with about 350,000 geological, mineralogical, paleontological, zoological and botanical objects, located in the German town of Altenburg. The museum building was opened in 1908, and the biggest “star” of the exhibition is called. king rats (Ger. Rattenkönig, eng. Rat king). KING RAT is a collection of rats whose tails intertwined and interrelated, with numerous breaks, so it is not possible to untangle the animals and separate, but often they die together. To this phenomenon occurs when, e.g., a group of rats ülep a resin or the like adhesive material. The highest recorded “King Rats” consisted of 32 rats found in 1828 in a chimney in the German city of Buchheim (Buhajmu).
