Why I Love Shopping at Amazon.com

I don’t know about you, but I love Amazon.com! I could shop there all day, every day.  I don’t think that there is a single thing on this planet that they don’t sell, from ketchup to fully furnished container homes.  Anything you want to buy, they have, and for only $100 a year, you can have access to thousands of movies and TV shows and all your shipping on every order is completely free.  This is called Amazon Prime.  I save more than the purchase price on shipping alone, every year, so it is like getting a streaming service for free!

Another great thing about Amazon is their product reviews. You will get honest reactions from people that have actually purchased the item you are looking at, and Amazon does not delete the negative ones! They leave all of them up so you can get an honest evaluation.

I find reviews especially useful when it comes to books. If I am thinking of buying a book, I always go to Amazon and see what others have to say about it. There have been many times that they reviews have saved me from buying a real dud of a novel, or a worthless how to book. Sometimes the reviews will even give a better alternative to the book that I am considering buying. I also love the section “Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought.” This part lists other items like the one you are looking at, and also accessories that go with it. It it tremendously useful when shopping for gifts, as it shows you items that you may not have thought of that might be exactly what you were looking for, or even something that you never knew existed but is really useful. I also really like that they have a place at the bottom of each page where you can ask questions about the item, and actually receive answers. This is very useful, even though the answers are not instantaneous.

The above mentioned stores are the main reason that Amazon is able to offer one of my favorite things about this site: the ability to buy some things used, instead of new, at a reduced price. I buy books that way all the time. Say for instance I want to buy a book on Vertical Gardening, but it’s $27.99……a cost that is prohibitive for me, I am not paying that much for a book. I simply look to see if it is offered “used” and I see it is. I click on the word “used” and I see the listings of people trying to sell this book and for what cost. In this case I saw it for sale, used, for $11.44, a price I am willing to pay, so I bought it. You have to be careful when buying used, as if the item is being sent to you by the seller, you will be charged $3.99 for shipping, in addition to the shipping you will be paying to Amazon, if you are buying other items as well .Amazon is a great site that I buy from all the time. If you haven’t tried it, you should!
