Lake Ontario and The Niagara River from Old Fort Niagara

Here is a view of the “French Castle” from on top of the Canon Tower at Old Fort Niagara North of Niagara Falls in Upstate NY.  As you look back you can see how the Fort is positioned at the corner of Great Lake Ontario and the mouth of the Niagara River coming straight off of Niagara Falls itself. To the left and beyond is the Niagara River and the houses you see on the other shore that is so close is Niagara On The Lake in Canada. There was a Fort on the other side and they used to shoot back and forth at each other across the river during the early days.  To the right is Lake Ontario.
