I have some concerns about people in congress running for president. I am concerned that it is hard to legislate and campaign at the same time. In fact, I think it is impossible to do both and serve them equally at the same time. I assume that both suffer some, and it is what it is.
I am open to listen to anyone running for president. I don’t have my mind made up and I ma tied to no one. I examine their words, actions, posts and anything I can get my hands on. I want to make informed decisions.
I listened to her entire speech. I then printed out a transcript so I could be accurate and clarify what I thought I heard.
Let’s talk about the general feel of her speech. The introduction talked about her roots and where she came from. (She left out that she has lived in Canada for quite some time.) She spoke about her job as an attorney and prosecutor in California. Then her speech became a little more interesting.
“I believe and on that point, I believed then as I do now, no one should be left to fight alone because you see in our system of justice, we believe that a harm against any one of us is a harm against all of us. That is why when a case is filed, it doesn’t read the name of the victim. It reads the people, and this is a point I have often explained to console and counsel survivors of crime. People who faced great harm often at the hands of someone they trust. Being a relative or a bank or a big corporation, I would remind them, you are not invisible. We all stand together because that is the power of the people and my whole life, I’ve only had one client. The people! And fighting for the people, fighting on behalf of survivors of sexual assault, a fight not just against predators, but a fight against silence and stigma.”

I haven’t built up the tolerance to listen to any of Kamala’s speaches, but I have heard good and bad things about her.
This would be very interestingly entertaining to watch her campaign about her perception of things around her and the presidency (or her pending lost). Ouch!
About her speech–I’m sure there’ll be more– she did a really painstakingly thorough job on the extraordinary platitudes put into her talking points. Clap, clap, clap to her!!!
It’s sad when someone who runs for president has to apologize for putting criminals in prison. She has too many other positions that I cannot agree with for me to vote for her.
She is so far the most interesting announced candidate for 2020.
By all accounts (of those speaking for her) she is honest.
(A huge change from what we have now. A replayed videotape word for word by the news was misquoted? How do you misquote a videotape?)
As far as your first point, can you govern and run I agree with you. But that is across the board. No one currently holding office should run.
