The tunnels and galleries of famous people from the early Stone Age (Paleolithic) water over thousands of years of work created one of the most beautiful caves in the world. Jeita cave is seastoji of two separate, but interrelated, certainly long cave almost 9 km, which makes it the longest cave in the Middle East. Located in the Nahr al-Kalb valley within the eponymous location, 18 km north of the Lebanese capital Beirut, the cave became known West when it encountered an American fighter in 1863. It was originally opened to the public in 1958 and quickly became internationally known for its spectacular and sometimes eerie formations of stalactites and stalagmites, stone curtains and columns. When the Open again in 1995, the cave has attracted up to 10,000 tourists a week.
