Janusz Korczak was a pediatrician and educator. He has written children’s books, and fought for the rights of children. He believed that children should always be heard and respected. In 1942 he voluntarily accompanied their charges from an orphanage in the Warsaw ghetto in Nazi camp Treblinka. In the early morning of August 5, 1942, SS soldiers emptied the Jewish orphanage in the Warsaw ghetto. Leader Orphanage Janusz Korczak was followed by its 200 residents to the city from which all together into camp Treblinka. Polish-Jewish doctor he was able to avoid death, but refused any help relatives and friends, because he did not want to leave the children in the lurch. In the end, I convinced the SS soldiers let him go along with the children.
