It's not as bad as it looks…

Last Wednesday, I had an accident.

My foot slipped as I was going up on a two-step stair going up to the small hut that serves as an extension to my in-laws’ house.

I was able to twist my body to fall on my right side. My left hand was extended to protect my face from hitting the concrete floor.

However, I felt something sharp hit my ear.

As I sat up, I placed my right hand on my right ear and immediately, I realized my ear was torn!

Fortunately, one of our neighbors have some oregano plants. The crushed leaves were used to stop the bleeding.

We rushed to the ER of a private hospital. My wound was cleaned and I was given a couple of anti-tetanus shots.

There are few EENT’s in our city who can perform surgery though. The first one that the ER staff mentioned was not available so I was referred to another one.

After the good doctor arrived, he cleaned up my torn ear further and applied some anesthetics.

Since the cartilage of my ear was torn, he explained to me that he has to stitch the skin only. So the stitches will be on both sides of my ear.

After about half an hour or so, he was done. It was almost painless. The bandage on my head is just to hold my ear in place. He said it’s much efficient than taping the gauze to my head.

For a few days, I had been pondering how I can use my new FReeBuds…

The right bud controls the playing and stopping the music…

Anyways, that’s just my way of saying, my right ear is fine.

As of last Saturday, I no longer have to use the bandage, and the stitches will come off on Tuesday.

I’m grateful that my head did not hit the concrete floor or anywhere else. The people who saw me fall are still arguing how my ear got torn.
