Indianapolis teen saves a toddler from drowning inside a pool

Haylei McGillis who is 13 years of age is being called a heroine for her actions to climb a fence at the Arbor Woods Apartments in Indianapolis Indiana on Sunday evening to get into a swimming pool to save a three year old girl from drowning.

The three old girl was with some of her friends at a swimming pool that was closed to anyone who was outside of the apartment.

Haylei who credits her mother for teaching her how to swim when she was younger, witnessed the three year old girl who went into the pool.

It is not clear if the young girl decided to get into the swimming pool by herself or was she pressured to enter the swimming pool.

When the young girl was swimming in the pool, one of her friends tossed her an object that was to be used to stay afloat. When the young girl started to struggle to stay above the water, Haylei acted on her instincts to climb the fence and jump into the pool to save the three year old girl from drowning.

When Haylei managed to get the young girl back out of the pool, the young girl coughed water out of her mouth and she appeared to be okay.

Now the question is where were the other members of the three year old girl doing standing on the outside of the swimming pool instead of taking care of the young girl?

You do not have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that three year old children are not able to swim in pools without any adult supervision.
