When my Mom died I wrote her life sketch and delivered it at the funeral. My other brother, got up and said that my sister did a beautiful job with the music, my brother gave and a great family prayer and then it came to me and he said well, she’s just a spoiled brat. That cut deep. I have not volunteered to help with anything. 

However, if they ask me to read the life sketch I will do it and I will do it my way. I will talk about my parents making the choice to marry and build a family and I will include the lyrics of this song. It will probably not please anyone but me. Still, if they ask me to they will also hear this: 

“My dad made many decisions in his life. As I was thinking about how things turn out and families are and I heard this song.When we’re born into this world we don’t really get a say, little boys and little girls handed the brand new families. There comes a time in life when we finally get to choose.  And he chose her. We can’t give our two cents on how tall we want to be, we don’t get an opinion on our ethnicity, but the one we spend our life with, we get to choose. He chose her to be by his side, He chose her to hold him at night. It’s the biggest decision he ever got right.Everybody has a choice they get to make, half human, half heaven that decides the family tree. Now all pick the branches that then become roots and he chose her.Thanks Dad.”
