When we think of angels we think of beings that resemble humans usually small chubby children with wings. However, there are different kinds of angles and the all play an important role in our lives. There are angles which become like guardians to us when we are born, they help us go through life and help guide us back home again. Angles signify many different things among them love, courage, strength, and guidance. Angels are important to people because they also interact in our lives if their help is needed.

I’m sure most people remember that old Christmas classic ”It’s a Wonderful Life” and how the angel Clarence helped Jimmy Stewart’s character from despair and showed him how much he meant to all of his friends and family. This is also the film with that fantastic line,  ”Every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings”.

Another Christmas classic gives us another angel this one is the guise of Cary Grant and who wouldn’t have wanted Cary Grant to be their Guardian Angel. The film was “The Bishop’s Wife”. A more modern film which came out in 1985 offers us an angel called Gideon. This was ”One Magic Christmas”. Some of the interesting things about angels are that their wings show which phylum or level they’re from. Interestingly enough each phylum has a different wingtip color and therefore by seeing the particular color you can tell which angel is present. Altogether there are ten diverse phylum of angels and they all have a personality of their own and area in which they specialize. Even though it is just the end of September since time flies so very fast just the thought of angels and Christmas gives me a warm glow. Therefore this article was inspired.

At the very top are Guardian Angels who bring forth love and glory and bask in a white glow. Their wing tip color is silver. These angels are there to protect us and keep us from harm and will aid us to overcome our fears and phobias. In the Bible, we find in Matthew 18:10 a passage where Jesus speaks about children ”See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in Heaven always see the face of my Father in Heaven”. Which is understood that children are always protected by Guardian Angels.

Another passage in the Bible where we find a reference to Guardian Angels is in Acts 12:12-15. Peter had been escorted out of jail by an angel afterwards he went to the home of Mary who was the mother of John, also known as Mark. Rhoda the servant girl there recognized Peter’s voice and ran back to tell the group that Peter had arrived. The group replied, ”It must be his angel”. Therefore it was Peter’s Guardian Angel who was most often painted and shown in images concerning this subject the most famous being Raphael’s fresco of the Deliverance of Saint Peter which can be seen in the Vatican. A traditional Catholic prayer to someone’s Guardian Angel is as follows:

Angel of God, my guardian dear

To whom God’s love commits

Ever this day/night be at my side

To light, to guard, to rule, and guide

Amen

Keep in mind that there is a strong belief that each of us has their own Guardian Angel and it is thought that if you want to contact with your particular angle you must ask a direct question, it must be asked out loud, clear and concise and your Guardian Angel will answer you. The answer will be tangible and explicit. You can attempt contact also through meditation.

  1. Interesting.

Angels are often mentioned in the Christian bible.

Why are they chosen as angels to be angels, and we as humans, who does the choosing?

I suppose God created souls, all the same, but he wanted to see them developing differently in different vehicles, so to speak, and so some were placed in human bodies, some as angels, and some left as souls waiting, for waiting also involves learning, watching, and being too, as well as being involved in guiding, as well.

    • I have long known about Guardian Angels and I have had people tell me they have been visited when they have been very sick but again there is no definite proof and the only proof one can have is to actually see an angel
