Gevgelija

In the courtyard of the Monastery of the Holy Savior (the Church of the Ascension of Christ) in Gevgelija, Macedonia in today’s North, there are the graves of two doctors who treated the Serbian army and the local population of typhus in 1915. Although they saved many lives themselves from typhus killed. Even today, 104 years later, lying next to each other Serb Aleksandar Djuric, born on the territory of Austria-Hungary, and the American Dr. James Donnelly.
