A strong earthquake shook Palu City and Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi, Friday (28/9/2018) at 17.02 WIB. Until 10:00 PM WIB September 29, 2018 the Palu earthquake was recorded at 420 people. It was only in the city of Palu, not including those in Donggala and Sigi.
The earthquake that was followed by the tsunami has damaged various infrastructure and other public facilities. This situation caused difficulties in the process of evacuation and distribution of aid which were constrained by difficulties in access because the airport was damaged, road access was interrupted, and the electricity and telecommunications networks were cut off.
While we continue to work to provide assistance to the victims of the Lombok earthquake two months ago, we also have to share concentration with Palu and Donggala.
It’s really sad-luck is that you and your family are safe-living and healthy
I’m sure it’s because of your prayer, Lado.
Btw, you need to know that my middle name is “lucky”. Hehehe…
But a friend, maybe even this helps – be nice all together
Okay, I will, Lado. Thank you so much again.
That is still too close. Thank you for showing the maps, we were all worried about you!
Thanks for your attention, Kim.
With a straight line, the distance between Jakarta and Palu is about 1512 miles. Travel time to Palu, the capital of Central Sulawesi province is a three and a half hour flight from Jakarta.
Oh my, okay, it looked closer.
OMG!!! Albert I’m Really Sad to hear the news Yesterday, I Hope Everyone Fine:…
Really too dangerous disaster/
Thanks for your sympathy, Hamza.
It was a terrible disaster. There is a lot of loss of life and great damage. Various damages have also hampered the evacuation and delivery of aid.
Yes you’re welcome albert, but please care yourself… Hmm.Much Loss and maybe 800+ peoples died!!! So Sad…
Yes, I will be careful, Hamza. Thanks
Surely thousands killed because the city was totally destroyed, so sad, even two houses with thousands of houses collapsed and swallowed by mud.
It’s nice to know that you and your family are okay. Sympathy to those who are affected.
Thanks a lot for the sympathy, my friend.
Of course, my family and I were fine because the disaster was so far from Jakarta.
you didn’t even have aftershocks? Good to know
Of course there are hundreds of aftershocks, even today, but of course in disaster areas. I am very far from that area.
No problem with the aftershocks I assumed…
I have no problem with that but have problems sending various forms of help there.
God will surely find all the way… ??
There you are my friend. I have been worried about you and your family. Such a tragedy.
Thank you for your concern, Carol. I’m fine. Here I put a map to show how far the disaster area with my city.
These storms can cause so much loss. I was concerned when I saw the news.
That tragic event is very sad for everyone here
I know it is, when these happen so many families are at a loss.
One of the toughest tasks of the rescue team was finding guests from an eight-floor hotel that was completely destroyed. A huge job to do !!!
That is so sad every time I see it on tv I think of you and your family.
Conditions there are very severe, Carol. Some housing complex lost was swallowed up by the earth, carried away by the tsunami, collapsed, etc. Very sad.
I see it on the news, breaks my heart.
Hope everything is fine for you and that help and aids are reaching the affected areas.
Hopefully, there will be no more disasters.
Yes, my friend, I’m fine, thank you. Hopefully more intense help and assistance can be given immediately in disaster areas.
So sorry to hear this. Awful event. We are lucky that we never get any natural disasters like earthquakes here in Britain.
You are indeed lucky, Maggie. I live in Indonesia, which is a disaster-prone area; volcanoes, earthquakes, and others.
My friend is really the real disaster – I hope you are far from the center of events and you are safe
Thank you for your concern, Lado. Yes, I’m so far from the disaster area. That’s why I show maps to show the disaster area and my city.
