About 70 km southeast of Bern, Switzerland lies the Lauterbrunnen valley which is considered one of the most beautiful in Europe. The valley is about one kilometer wide and is situated between giant rocks and mountain peaks that rise almost vertically to a height of 300 meters from the valley floor. At the bottom of the village of Lauterbrunnen, which means “many sources”, and it was named after as many as 72 waterfalls falling into the valley from a height of several hundred meters.
