I will never forget that day, sitting at that table, looking at Zennie. I want to run and embrace her, tell her I was sorry, beg her to take me back.
I never loved anyone as I had her.
I stared at her, love pouring from me, and she averted her face.
The lawyers were talking and talking, and I could breath. I asked for a moment, and went outside. My lawyer followed.
I told him; “Can I give her the trailer, and whatever else she wants in return for her leaving me alone for the rest of my life? Never see her, hear her, anything? Can I?”
The lawyer nodded, and we went back in and she got all the nothing that we had owned, and I got me.
I left the room, loaded up on supplies, then went to the pier, got into the boat .
I steamed out all day,into the night.
Then I sat and cried.
