Zennie and I grabbed low level jobs. We rented a crap hole. Both of us had three jobs, one full time, one part time, one on weekends.
We worked in the ‘food’ industry, meaning, we ate on the job. Whether we stuffed our faces with the what’s left on other people’s plates, grabbed a cookie here, a donut there, or were licensed to take a meal, we filled our bellies at work to save money on food.
It didn’t take long for us to buy an old house trailer we could fix up. with our savings. Once we got it, we cut out the full time jobs, living on what we got with part time and weekends, looking for better jobs full time.
And we were happy. We really were happy.
But the fact is, when you marry too young with no experience, unless you have a family around you to help and guide, it is like being stranded in a jungle.
We stumbled through as best we could, and looking back, we made a lot of mistakes.
