This morning I did a run at George Westinghouse College Prep track, which is an open track to the East Garfield Park neighborhood. For my run I did 2 laps around the track, then kicked it up a notch on the final two laps, which ended up being 1 Mile. Once I completed the run I did short 100 meter sprints and slow jogs back-and-forth from each post. This portion of the run I enjoyed because the turf is so much softer than the rubber pavement on the track. Other than the presence of headwinds on certain sides of the track, I felt great overall and ready to kick it up a notch going into my marathon training. The one final thing I need to incorporate into my training to make it complete is speed workouts which are a very important piece in building endurance.
