Absolute Perfection (Part 5): Quality

Have you ever heard someone say, “It’s not about the quantity, it’s about quality?”  In the era of mass production, the products that are manufactured are not as good as in previous years because CEO’s prioritize quantity over quality.  Greed is looking to squeeze every ounce of profit out of a product instead of adding expenses that would ensure that the product is top-notch.  However, if the product works too good, then the consumer will no longer have to buy that same product again.

Nevertheless, quality must always be the standard that is set.  On this website, Virily ensures that there are certain standards met before they allow for a post to be seen on their home page.  Every post must have a certain amount of characters.  Plus, every post must have at least one picture before Virily approves the post.  Although Virily ranks at #63,835 in the world, they choose not to sacrifice the quality in order to move up in the Alexa.com rankings.  Some posts take as long as two weeks before they are approved by the site moderator.  This attention to detail is what Virily strives for on a daily basis.  Absolute perfection is attained when one strives for quality over quantity.

  1. interesting argument – i find myself in the middle on this one. First, the evolution of technology is occurring at a greater rate than at any time in history. That makes devices obsolete much quicker. Second, the society has changed. In the 1950s runners, walkers and others out exercising didn’t exist. The wear and tear on Tennis shoes is a lot greater.

Products are made to survive use. But the use has changed.
