A Snowy Patriotic Monument

This was a special monument that my late husband put up outside because I missed being back in the U.S. This was in 2014 and this is what I wrote at the time.

I think most of you know that even though I live in Riga, Latvia that this is my parent’s homeland, not mine. My homeland is the U.S. and I am often homesick. Well, my hubby knows how to reason with me. He reminded me that if Trump could take up the presidency at the age of 70 then the two of us being 10 years younger are still spring chickens so eventually I will get back to visit the states. To make sure that I was listening to him he took a plastic lily and a small U.S. flag and made a wonderful monument in the snow just for me. As you can see from the picture it certainly made me smile so here in our little corner of the world everything is just fine.
