A Short Escape into a World of Beauty and Serenity

A botanical garden in the middle of a big city certainly represents a blessing for its inhabitants and visitors when they seek to take refuge for a while from the noise of the crowded streets and look for an oasis of peacefulness and serenity. That is exactly what I was searching one day when I went to the botanical garden of Iasi, one of Romania’s most important cities, and my expectations were fully confirmed.

Whenever I get the chance to explore such as a lovely site I try to take full advantage of the precious minutes spent there and remove negative thoughts and concerns from my mind as I try to fully embrace the symphony of colours which reveals in all its splendour to my wondering eyes and soul.

In my view, a trip to a botanical garden represents an incursion into a magical mini world of splendour and diversity in which the exquisite coloured flowers coexist with all sorts of unique plants brought here from all over the world. When I feast my eyes and soul with the fragile grace of flowers, I can also have a closer look at some strangely shaped trees which remind me that nature can always be full of surprises.

After about an hour of walking at a small pace on the alleys of the botanical garden, of admiring some species of plants that I could see for the first time in my life and of reading the information about them, I feel that I have recharged my batteries and I have also gained more knowledge about the astonishing realm of plants and respect towards nature and its creations.

I could stay for long hours inside the garden and admire its wonders without getting bored, but time is mercilessly limited and I had to leave the leave the garden while promising myself that, whenever my steps take me to the great city of Iasi again, I will return to that lovely kingdom of peacefulness and delicacy.

While going out in the wild and exploring nature can definitely make us feel alive and full of energy, even a short trip to a park or a botanical garden can be of great help when we need a short escape from city life. Such a fabulous place shows us that there is a bright side of life we can enjoy if we really want to find it!
