A Good Samaritan assists a police chief who was struck by a car

Van Buren Maine Police Chief Michael Bresset is one person who is lucky to be alive when he was working on a detail during a whiteout road conditions due to a recent winter storm that had struck the region when an auto that due to circumstances beyond his control, slid into the area where Van Buren Police Chief was assisting other drivers to negotiate the hazardous road conditions was struck by the auto.

I know if I were in the shoes of Chief Bresset who suffered a broken leg when he was hit by the auto by accident while he was working a traffic detail, I would be praying that someone would come to my aid under these terrible circumstances with the bad weather and not being able to move.

However a Good Samaritan arrived at the scene of the accident to take the Chief Bresset to the Cary Medical Center in Cary Maine to be treated for a broken leg due to the impact of the auto accident.

Van Buren Sergeant Luke Dyer mentioned that his boss had surgery to repair the broken leg. Luke also mentioned that the Good Samaritan who has yet to be identified in public did come to see Chief Bresset in the hospital to check on his condition.

Okay so this story is kind of bittersweet since Chief Bressett will have months of physical therapy ahead of him due to his leg injury. However having to have physical therapy is better than mourning a loss of a police officer in the line of duty.

Sergeant Dyer has mentioned that the Good Samaritan will be rewarded for his service of assisting a law enforcement officer who was injured in the line of duty at a public ceremony in a future date in Van Buren Maine.
