 Wadi Al-Hitan, 

or Valley of the Whales is a paleontological site, which is located some 150km southwest of Cairo, Egypt. The site is extremely rich in preserved fossils of various animals and especially the earliest forms of whales. The site is an invaluable site for dismissal of one of the greatest mysteries of whale evolution (evolution from land to sea) Discovered in 1902 year. However, the next 80 years attracted little , probably because of the climate of the town. Since 1980, the extensive range of research and therefore since 2005 localities included in the UNESCO heritage.
