Woman's Day

For Womans Day I will present one of my illustrations. Hand done.

My questions – what do people want of a woman?

I am really tired of stereo types or used cliches!.

A woman is herself and we are all different we adorn ourselves with who we see ourselves to be.

Every woman is a Princess in her own right, no matter what race, size, age or what is in the bank.

Each woman is special and it doesn’t only belong to those with the label of feminist or barbie doll or model..or lady muck! Maybe one of the “it!” crowd.

It really does not matter, we are who we are, basically ourselves.

Most of us grow to be like mothers, sisters, daughters, wives, chief cook and bottle washer, secretary, girl friday, lover, artists, gardener, nurse, housekeeper, chauffeur, counsellors or what ever you need to be. Most are Jack of all trades depending on what is necessary.

Incidentally New Zealand was the 1st country to give women the vote but it was not until 40 years later that a woman could enter parliament. The reason why women really worked at getting to vote, in New Zealand, is because a lot of men spend their wages on gambling and drinking and they did not support their wives and families. However, there has always been militant personalities in both sexes.

Everyone in theory should have rights and in my opinion, no one should demand their rights at the expense of others. I know it doesn’t always work that way.

  1. Your artwork is awesome! I agree with you. We are all ourselves, it doesn’t matter what others want of us, we just live our own lives, be it a man or woman. I didn’t know New Zealand was the first to let women go for voting. Thanks for sharing that.

    • Thanks so much Kaka, New Zealand would have been more progressive to allow women to go into parliament when they began voting but that would have been too much for that time.

  2. Anyway, I do not know why it’s so … I personally respect all women … every one is beautiful in nature, whether it is an outer or inner beauty and I really do not know what a man would be if there were no women
