When a Man is innocent

In New Zealand in our court system, a man is innocent unless he is proven guilty. How many people have walked the gallows when they were innocent and were wrongly convicted?

I put a link up here for defrosting cold cases. A man called Zeigler was convicted of murder and walks on death row for a crime he did not commit.

I don’t know the answers, or whether he actually did it. What I do know that a man should have a fair trial and have a chance to get to the actual truth about who did what. I don’t think anyone should get the death penalty if there is any doubt whether the man actually did it.

So here, is my vote, for fairness and liberty for anyone who is proven innocent.

Here is my post of the man rowing the boat in the river and the moon!

  1. We have the same law in the US, but with a provisionary statement. ‘A man is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of his peers.’ The last 6 words mean that innocent people still end up in prison and guilty ones can still walk free. Some lawyers are exceptionally clever at convincing the jury of the guilt or innocence of the person on trial.
