When Lisa returned to the bedroom Kian was hoisting his pack.
“Where are you going?” she asked.
“Away.”
“Away where?” she demanded.
“Away for good.” Kian replied, adding, “my good.”
“You just got back yesterday!” Lisa stated.
“And I’m leaving today.”
“You go, don’t come back.”
“Thank you much for your permission and instruction.” Kian said, swinging out of the room, going down the stairs, out, to the car.
His wife followed. As he opened the car door she announced; “I mean it, Ki. If you leave this time..”
Kian stopped. gave her a pricing study, and unimpressed, replied;
“Lisa, I won’t be back.”
