Thursday's Reflections – A late entry

This is the reflections of the Huntly Bridge in 2018 in winter.

Many bemoan the fact they go through trials in life. Trials is part of life but take things into a reality check.

Once I was late to catch a bus. I just got on it. On the way from Auckland to Whangarei which was a 3 hour trip the bus got a flat tyre around the half way point, Wellsford. I remember well the care that this tough Maori man who drove the bus, counted everyone on the bus when we got on again and I never forgot the care he had for his passengers.

Then I sat at the back of the bus. A man next to me told me he missed a plane to Wellington by 5 minutes, while we went past a horrific road accident on a hill. It was not nice what we saw. He told me, that we were blessed that we were late by 20 minutes because of a flat tyre.

This is why, he said if we were 5 minutes earlier, we in the bus would have been involved in that car accident we were seeing.

He missed this plane from Auckland to Wellington that seated 6 people including the pilot. This plane carrying 5 people on board crashed and not one of them survived….

Think that life situations are accidents or luck? I don’t think so. I don’t know why bad things happen to people, in the end I think people create their own good or bad luck or fate renamed….It may seem to be that innocent people get hurt and they do in this world..

What they important thing is, is to see circumstances as a whole and make the best out of it….

I see life as a tapestry, we only see the mess, the stray black strands that are untidy and messy. What we often miss out is the whole picture, and one day, it will all make sense….

Is your glass half empty or half full? It’s up to you!
