Thrift confession

I ventured out to a local thrift store called ‘Green Element Resale’ in Edgewater neighborhood. My excuse for dropping in was to drop a few donations off, which is something that I try to do on a regular to weed out unused things.

One thing that I want to share with you all are that thrift stores are great based off the area it’s located at. If the area is poor then most likely it will have poor quality things, but if the area is a decent middle-class or rich then you will have very nice things. Anyway, that is something that I have noticed living in a large city like Chicago, which has thrift stores located throughout its neighborhoods.

As for my confession, I managed to make it out today with only one purchase, which was a military style jacket by ‘Steve Madden’ that has tags still attached. The jacket is priced $49.99 at TJ Maxx, but I purchased it at Green Element for $10.00. I have shared the picture below, but it reminds me of a United States Marine Corps service ‘A’ uniform. If you have never seen a United States Marine Corps service ‘A’ uniform, I have shared one below of me at the Marine Corps Birthday Ball when I served in the Marines.

I love thrift shopping. You can get ten things because everything costs, like, three dollars. -Lorde
