This is my story……

Last year around may I  had got a cold it was just a normal cold . About a month later I still had a cough and it was getting really really bad . So I decided to get into the doctors. I went to the urgent care . There they took a x-ray and it didn’t look like I had pneumonia and didn’t know what it could be and why I was coughing so bad and told me to see my normal doctor on Monday .

So when Monday came I called early in the morning to see if i could get seen .  I went in that day . They ordered me to get a echo and a CT done that next day at the hospital . So I did and they next day back to the doctors again. They took in back and there they told me I had ILD = interstitial lung disease and that if I didn’t stop smoking right them and there I would die in 6 months.

I left the doctor office so scared and cried all the way home and cried for days and to this day I still cry sometimes at night  .I didn’t understand what is really was or anything about it . Now it has been 6 months and still confused. I know more about it now then I did 6 months ago . This disease is a killer there is no cure and everyday your breathing gets worse and worse till you die. Some people who have it lives for a few months to 10 years .

I don’t really know when I will die but I hope and pray that I will once day see my kids grown up and have there own families before it is my time to go . I know what the last stages of the disease does as my mom passed way from Almost the same thing 10 years ago  She was ok 1 month and 2 months later she was gone . There is still a lot of questions i has and a lot more I need to learn about this disease

  1. Why do not you try drinking in the morning to drink a cup of lukewarm water with freshly squeezed half lemon juice. I am also a smoker. In the evening before bedtime cut a crooked onion head. And he left it all night long near your head. Helps in coughing and throwing out phlegm. And I do it.
