Seneca County Sheriff’s Office deputy named Crystal Cottrell of Waterloo New York is being called a heroine for saving the life a Buffalo Bills football fan on Sunday at New Era Field in Orchard Park New York when the man who was a tailgate party starting choking from a particle of food that was stuck inside his windpipe.
Kim Casasanta who was part of the group that included Officer Cottrell saw an older man start to choke in the parking lot. Then Officer Cottrell ran toward where the man who was choking to attend to his needs by applying the Heimlich manuever on the choking victim since there was no one else in the area who could or would attend to the choking victims need.
Cottrell was able to get the man who was choking to get the food article out of his mouth so he could breathe again. Cottrell told members of the tailgate crowd to call 911 as soon as the man who was choking on his food was back on his feet.
When the medical personnel arrived to attend to the man who had been choking on his feet, Cottrell went back with her group while the elderly man and his daughter thanked Officer Cottrell for her quick thinking to save a life.
The man who was saved by Officer Cottrell told her that he was going to tell her boss Seneca County Sheriff Tim Luce to tell him that one of his deputies saved his life on Sunday December 17, 2017 which is a great story with a happy ending.
When the game was over, both parties wished each other a Merry Christmas. The police may get a bad rap from the mainstream press but in this occasion one deputy was in the right place at the right time at New Era Field on Sunday.
I love your happy ending stories. 🙂
Wonderful story once again, thanks for sharing!
Another great story, glad to hear a happy ending.
That is true since A Bills fan gets to celebrate Christmas and a police deputy did her duty to save a life at the same time. A great package.
