Procrastination

Well funny enough, but me writing about this topic itself pull together my level of procrastination. Question here is, is it wrong to be procrastinating?

Imagine we make a decision to do something and then end up keeping it on hold till it becomes a problem. Now when we actually started to work on that thing, we had an awesome plan to judiciously complete it in a given time frame. Not only this, sometimes we also have a timeline to do our tasks. But then, it all starts from the point where we decide to disturb our timeline believing that we can cover it up later by putting in extra efforts.

It is also about perception probably. Because at the beginning of the task, we see a lot of time in our hands and a smooth walk to finish the job. Towards the end of the task, we had already wasted a lot of time that we had and end up in a panicked stage where all the work is piled up and the deadline is too close. That is when our mind tells us..  ‘God, where did all the time go!? This task was way to complicated than it looked in the first place.’

But, was it?

Was it really the task or our procrastination? Interesting part is, we procrastinators, we know it all 😀 I know when I am drifting away from what I am supposed to do and where I am supposed to be present mentally. And I know that this can give me trouble. But I think, I would still not be able to put a complete stop to it. I think, nobody can.

Every person is a procrastinator. It is just that the level of procrastination that differs and that makes a difference.

What do you think? Do you connect with what I am saying or do you have a different approach towards procrastination?
