Playing Him Like a Piano – part 18

Kat, having just moved in,  asked Jeremiah for her key.

“I  didn’t make the keys, yet…”  he said.

If she had not been so well trained she would have lashed out, instead; almost tearfully;

“Oh Jerry, I really really need a key cause I will soon have to go to work and you may not be here when I have to leave.”

He stood for at least one full tick minute, processing, then nodded,  went out, got into his car.

She wondered if he were that stupid or callus or mean as to not see the need for her to have a key to the house.

She  was disliking him more as the minutes passed, which was a good thing. Nothing is worse than feeling sorry for your dupe.

Of all the men she’d been with in her twenty two years of life, he was the most unpleasant.

Not  only was he even more unattractive up close,  but his behaviour towards her was more prison guard than land lord.

Then  she realised, he probably never had a real girl friend before.  He  didn’t know how to act.

This made her smile.
