Mary Kay LeTourneau-Fualaau Dead at 58

Wednesday, 7.8.20

I first heard about Mary Kay LeTourneau on the TV news back in the 90s, when I used to actually watch TV and the news. It was a big deal on the media, although I didn’t pay too much attention because the media often promoted a relationship between an adult and a teenager. So, I just thought to myself, not another one.

While I was on Youtube, I noticed a video, stating that Mary Kay LeTourneau had recently died.

She was born in January 30, 1962 in Tustin, California (Orange County), and she died on July 6, 2020 in Washington.

Mary Kay LeTourneau was born Mary Kay Schmitz in Tustin, California. Her family later moved to Corona Del Mar, in Orange County, California. She went to an all-girls Catholic School in Anaheim, California. That is a nice coastal area. Schmitz were very right wing. They were very rigid and very religious couple. Her younger sibling drowned in the pool by accident. It messed up Mary Kay. She was closer to her father because her mother was quite cold. John Schmitz had a mistress. Mary Kay was in college when she found out about his father’s affair. He had two children with this mistress with his student.  Mary Kay moved to Arizona to attend Arizona State. She met Steve LeTourneau, and she became pregnant. She soon married him. In 1985, they moved to Seattle, and they had 3 kids. She started working as a teacher at an elementary school. Steve was cheating on her. She eventually liked a Samoan-American boy, Villi Fualaau, at the school. When she became his sixth-grade teacher, she eventually became involved with him because her marriage was falling apart, and her father died.

After she got out of prison after 5 months, she ended up seeing Villi again. She got arrested again and went to prison for a second time.

She had 4 kids with her husband and two daughters with Villi. After Villi turned 18, he worked on marrying Mary Kay while she was in prison. Steve LeTourneau has now married to his second wife in Alaska.
