Well it’s not winter yet, but it’s time for me to start getting ready for it.
I like to be prepared well in advance. Next week I will call the chimney sweep to clean our wood stove and chimney. Last year he said he was retiring, but I hope he is still working this year, because I don’t want to have to look for a new one.
We need to get a cord of wood for this year. It was supposed to happen last Sunday, but plans fell through. I hope it happens soon. It’s not cold yet, but I want to be ready when it is. We have some wood that needs to be split already, but certainly not enough to last the late fall and winter. I hope to get everything done before my sister arrives.
I would also like to get a new bed for Happy, as she managed to tear her new one up this summer. It started with one little rip, and most of the stuffing was out in a short period of time.
I started Christmas shopping last week. I got something for my boyfriend and one other person. I like to get started early, to spread out the cost over a few months. And so I can shop for bargains.
Yes, winter is just around the corner. I have also started on my Christmas shopping. I like to plan ahead too.
And I’m still thinking about summer, poor me. LOL
It’s still kind of warm over here, your post made me feel cooler. 😀
I’m often a last minute gift buyer, but at best I might wait for Black Friday. 🙂
I am impressed with you being so early with your plans. Keep going and good for you.
Happy will be very happy with her new bed I am sure.
There is a saying “Prepare an umbrella before it rains”, and you do it well ahead of the coming winter.
