If you know someone that truly needs help the wrong question is “How can I help?” They are overwhelmed. If they knew what to do to fix the situation they would do it themselves or ask. So be a great neighbor and friend and be observant.
If they are having to drive back and forth, get them a gas card. If there are meals to be made deliver them. If they have animals take care of them. If you know they are having financial issues call the power company and help with the bill.
So please avoid the question and just be the quiet little helper that is needed. We call it elf duty in this house. Work together and great things happen. It take everyone turning their cog in unison.
