Hey all, we are under a suggested evacuation. Yesterday at 11pm a fire broke out in our area. It burned 4100 acres and is coming this way. I will more than likely loose power, when that happens we will evacuate. The cars are packed, my mom already left. My son and daughter and law with their two dogs are staying with me they were under a mandatory evacuation yesterday. The fire was at the edge of their house, as of right now I don’t know if it is still standing. I might not be able to log in for days, I don’t really know whats going on yet until the fire site is updated.
Kim, I want you all the best and I hope that the fire is withdrawn as soon as possible
Thank you Vidocka : ) A new update will be released in a few hours, they have two a day. I am sure they have it pretty much contained. I will update everyone tomorrow. Right now it is at 15% contained.

CalFire and the National Weather service have good links to keep track of forecasts.
Hope that all is well for you tonight. The suggested evacuations are sometimes issued with an abundance of caution and I hope that is the case for your area!
They even set up an Amber Alert for fires now for cell phones, and since my son was here he signed up. I know they do the reverse 911 calls on home phones, but this is awesome. I have been watching both of them along with San Diego Fire page, set up by cal fire. Those guys rock! Its amazing to see how they do this, they are fantastic.
Hope and pray for the best that the fire can be controlled before more harm comes to your area.

Thank you Norman, yesterday was a lot better, the air around the house wasnt even really bad, we had a offshore wind and it really helped out a lot. Plus the fact that Cal fire firefighters are the best of the best out there.

They reply, “It’s just our job” But they are really true heros, every single one of them. The policemen and all the emergency crews, down to the people that are helping and donating. Times like these really make you grateful to the good people on this earth. : )
Last night I saw the news about the fire, horrible! I do not imagine that you and your family are those who are directly affected by it. Please be careful and stay safe, Kim!
Wow, it made the news there. We are hot in more ways than one. My two boys, and daughter in law with their two dogs are having one big slumber party. The dogs love it. Cats not so much, they are not allowed outside until this is over. I think they will get it contained today, they have the containment at 15%. Thank you Albert, no fire will get us. I have a fast car. grins.
Ha! I am relieved that you are far enough away from the threat of fire, at least you have a flying broom that can save you and the whole family at once.

Thanks Doc, I am a little worried. The winds did die down last night, still no updates yet, and still almost an hour until daylight.
