A couple of years back, I went to Karnal for an advance meditation program. It was a four days long residential program. My spiritual master was on Haryana tour and he was to come at the venue during the last day. I was pretty excited about the course and meeting Guruji.
About 550 people were participating in the program and the venue was adjacent to a railway track. The sound of the trains going and coming was quite a hindrance during meditations. The course was taking place in the hot month of June but the organizers had so foolishly organized the course in an open venue by putting up a tent as they couldn’t find a hall large enough to accommodate so many people. The heat was almost unbearable. But these challenges taught me to meditate even during adverse circumstances.
Although the course wasn’t in the ideal situation but still those four days in silence were blissful in the anticipation of meeting Guruji. Guruji came on the last day and addressed all the participants. Just seeing him was enough to forget all the inconveniences during the course. I think it was a way of teaching us to come out of our comfort zones and be happy in all situations.
