Christmas time always brings back some wonderful childhood memories. I find myself missing my dear sweet grandmother. My father’s mother. She passed away when I was seventeen. I was just starting to het to know her when she died.
My grandmother and I were both big wrestling fans. She got to travel with wrestlers back in her earlier days. She was a writer for a Wrestling magazine. This was back when ladies were not allowed to do such things.
The other day a got a package in the mail. It was something I did not expect. There was no return address on the package. It was a gift from one of my sister’s. She had found something that belonged to my grandmother, but she thought I should have it. It was old wrestling programs. I cried when I saw them.
They bought back wonderful memories of my grandmother telling me stories of the days when she was a sports writer. It’s seen many years since my grandmother has passed away. But, I still miss her. Now, I have something that belonged her that brings back, many stories of her past.
I am very grateful to my sister for sending these to me. I will cherish them for the rest of my life.
