Assertion Of Power
Let’s face up to another sour truth: Those of us who like little children like them because they make us feel powerful. Yesterday I was a nobody but today, with a little child in my power, I know I’m a somebody, and what’s even more important is that the little blighter I’m ordering around – for his or own good – knows it, too!
When I Wasn’t A Power
A long time ago in Rome I sort of twigged that my ex was holding on to our son for dear life and for power. She did everything she could to show herself powerful and I, the underdog, had to abide my time while the experts gave her the go-ahead. It cost me a lot but I got there in the end with my son…..but all through the struggle I never felt powerful.
Happy With Peacocks

But now I do. I have an Asian baby girl I go out with on a regular basis, and boy does she make me feel good. Why, only yesterday, I was hurling her big ball at a cage full of peacocks just to show her that the birds come running because when their cage is rattled by the park-attendants the birds know it’s grub-time. I’d sort of twigged it, and felt like showing off to a baby and to the peacocks. The cocks didn’t like me much because there was no grub from me but Alice, the little girl, admired my knowledge and bravado, and witnessed my savvy as I bent and plucked a succulent blade of grass off the lawn and gave it to one of the peacock’s mates, a less splendid female with whitish overlay, who gobbled it up and tried for my finger, too, while hubby puffed and bristled in the background.
A King In The Country Of The Blind

Oh, yes, in the country of the blind the one-eyed man is king, and in my very own country I’m king, too. I’ve waited years for this moment and so I can conclude this formidable blog by writing : Beware. I am king. Babies, and adult babies, too, look up to me. I have power. Look on my Blogs, ye Mighty, and despair!*
*“Ozymandias” / Shelley
“Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”
