Love ItLove It

All By Hand

This is what my yard looked like when I first moved into my new place.

We moved into a house.  I can not say that the people who lived here before us took good care of the place.  The yard was a mess.  My lawnmower died and could not be replaced before we moved.  I still do not have one and I really do not a place for a lawnmower if I get one.  Our backyard was so overgrown that it would have killed a lawnmower, anyway.

It took me a whole month to clean the yard and pull all weeds out of the ground.  There was poison ivy everywhere.  It has even grown in the walls house itself.  I did it all by hand.  I did my best to get rid of as much of it as I could.  For now, the place looks a lot better than it did when we moved in.  It still needs a lot of work.  It will take a lot of time and money to get the place, the way I want it.

This is my yard now.  I pulled all the weeds by hand, myself.

One lesson that I have learned from all of this, is that everything can’t get done at once.  It will take time.  I have to give myself the time to get things done.  I love the house.  It’s the perfect place for my family.  And, I get a strong feeling that we were meant to be here.  By moving here, we have changed things for the better.  It will take time to see results, that’s all.
