How To Clean Refrigerator Condenser Coils Fast & Easy!

In a previous article, I wrote about how a refrigerator works and mentioned that the condenser and coils should be cleaned periodically. Doing this prolongs the life of the refrigerator, uses less energy, and keeps the food safer to eat for a longer period of time. People who have never done it are often amazed at how dirty the condenser and coils can become, even in an immaculate house.

What I didn’t cover was how to do it. It honestly isn’t difficult and it isn’t especially time-consuming, but if you don’t know how to do it, the difficulty increases. I want to correct that oversight. This video shows how to clean the condenser and coils. It should also give you a notion of what to expect when you do it. The first time I did this, I was shocked by how dirty everything was. I started noticing a difference within an hour of cleaning it, though. When I do it now, I start by unplugging the fridge and I’m usually done before things start warming up. In other words, it doesn’t take long.
